Storm in a tea cup?

as quickly as it started, it finished, 3 days !!!

not the 1 / 2 weeks as i thought !!!!

so, the i.l.a. called off their strike, for now, with new dead line set for 15th January 2025 !

that will be something to look forward to !

still, think its worth a mention that some, please note some carriers did not mention surcharges while others could not have been any quicker, notably the larger carriers and how many of these are members of the United States Maritime Alliance, i have not looked but would say the vast majority, just thought this should be mentioned.

in contrast to the past couple of years, space on the roro side of shipping seems to be available with most carriers on most trades.

on the container side, space also seems good however I have heard of delays in the usa for containers for

on-carriage however, don't treat that as fact.

Let us hope we will have some calm waters for the next couple of months, would be nice, oh, sorry, forgot, us election in a couple of weeks !!!

and now to me..................

after some years away from running files, i am back into the full swing of things, with shipments going deep sea, short sea along with some other shipments, all in all very happy with progress which we have made in the past 11 weeks, also forgot how much i enjoyed it ! or could it be i missed the interaction with suppliers and customers ?

working from home........

seems to be one of the biggest things for people who are predominately based in an office.

during covid i still went to the office most days, so never did the "work from home" then.

now i am based from home, this year I have seen the changes in the season more than previous years.

i have had the time too see rather than charging off to the office or charging home again, focused on the destination rather than the journey.

now fighting not to put the heating on during the day, i do now see the benefit of it, working from home that is, not however sure my better half would

agree !!

however i would add, which is very important, it works for now while it is just the 2 of us and i do miss the camaraderie that being in an office brings however i make do via email, txt and WhatsApp, not quite the same though.

with less than 2 weeks before all hallows eve, 3 weeks till bonfire night and again lets not forget, the election in the usa, 10 weeks till that time of year (yes still little early to say it), i am excited and looking forward to the the roller coaster of life and work,
